Professor (Mrs) EKI OGHRE is a Sabbatical professor the Department of Optometry and Vision Science, University of Ilorin, and a Professor at the Department of Optometry, University of Benin, Benin City. She holds a Doctor of Optometry Degree(OD) as well as a Ph.D in Pharmacology. She is a fellow of the Nigerian College of Optometists, also, a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She has been a lecturer to undergraduate and postgraduate optometrists for the past 28 years,, where she has been involved in teaching of General Optometry, Environmental vision, Ocular anatomy and physiology, Ocular pathology as well as ocular pharmacology and therapeutics. Her research areas include ocular disorders affecting the anterior segment, impact of environmental and social factors on ocular health, the relationship between systemic diseases and ocular health as well as the efficacy and side effects of drugs and natural products on ocular health.
Professor Oghre has over thirty well researched articles, in local as well as international journals as well as several conference papers, seminar presentations and lectures at various fora. She was the Head of Department of the Department of Optometry, University of Benin from 2009-2011, and has been the Thesis coordinator of the Department for several years.
